Screening Eagle Innovations Highlighted at Disruptive Technology Summit in Hong Kong

In the Media

Screening Eagle’s technology innovations were highlighted by Tectus Group CEO Marcel Poser in a presentation to the UBS Disruptive Technology CEO Summit 2018 in September.

The Hong Kong summit, attended by over 300 CEOs and senior executives from technology companies and financial organisations around the world, looked at the impact of technology on business and how it was changing the world.

Marcel Poser highlighted how Screening Eagle was moving infrastructure inspection away from a manual, paper-based industry to a predictive, holistic model based on Internet of Things (IoT) inspection technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) data analytics.

He showcased two ground-breaking iOS apps, integrated with Screening Eagle, to highlight the broad capabilities of the platform.

One, a concrete crack detection app, trained using machine-learning algorithms to automatically recognise and measure cracks.

The other, a new augmented reality (AR) feature of the Proceq ground-penetrating radar (GPR) app, which visually projects tomographic time-slice and 3D representations on to and into concrete structures via an iPad screen, and radically enhances on-site data interpretation.

Tectus sees the future of infrastructure management as being a smart, on-demand platform – with Screening Eagle as its core – that scans and monitors physical assets to give a health certificate and remove all guess work when it comes to valuation and condition assessment.

Screening Eagle technology helps fix things before they are broken!

Why use Screening Eagle?

  • IoT inspection tech – connected and collaborative;
  • AI data – unrivalled depth of analysis;
  • Increase the life of your assets and avoid business disruption;
  • Gain a highly-accurate and verifiable asset health record and rating;
  • Boost NPV.

Tectus to Lead the Development of Autonomous Drones

In the Media

Tectus Dreamlab and the National University of Singapore’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering develop autonomous drones using artificial intelligence for building inspection.

A Tectus Dreamlab collaboration with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) on an autonomous drone project, supported by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), is set to revolutionize construction engineering and asset management while drastically increasing productivity and driving down inspection and maintenance costs.

The project will see the development of self-fly drones on building construction sites to collect photographic data. The drones will be able to fly to multiple floors autonomously and automatically generate a report containing the images with their specific locations.

A primary objective of this project is to increase the potential use for drones in building construction by achieving autonomous indoor navigation and drone flight – without an operator and without requiring access to GPS, Wi-Fi or beacons. While unmanned aerial vehicles – or drones – are increasingly being used in construction, primarily flying outdoors, these are remotely controlled by a drone operator and have mission planning based on GPS data.

Unique Collaboration Between Tectus Dreamlab and Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) to Revolutionize Lifecycle Management of Infrastructure Assets Globally

In the Media

(SINGAPORE August 3 2016) Tectus Dreamlab and A*STAR’s Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) today announced a partnership that will see the undertaking of joint research to develop capabilities in lifecycle management of infrastructure assets globally. The two-year partnership will involve over 20 top caliber and highly-experienced researchers from both organisations and is part of Tectus Dreamlab’s long-term commitment to the research and development (R&D) landscape in Singapore.

The first joint research project between Tectus Dreamlab and I2R aims to create innovative and sustainable solutions using latest technologies. It will draw upon the latest advances across diverse technology sectors – from virtual and augmented reality, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data and cloud computing to mobile computing and visual computing and wearable technology.

This partnership enhances the premier project of Tectus Dreamlab and complements existing public and private partnerships initiated since Tectus Dreamlab was launched. The joint research teams will be housed in the Tectus Dreamlab office in Fusionopolis, Singapore. Covering 30 hectares, the Fusionopolis cluster provides an environment conducive to growth in the information and communications technologies (ICT), media, physical sciences and engineering industries. The stateof-the-art research facilities promote infinite possibilities in scientific research and technological breakthroughs, while its abundant resources empower scientists and researchers to discover, innovate and collaborate.

Marcel Poser, CEO, Tectus Group said: “We are constantly impressed with Singapore’s attitude towards innovation and the nation’s ability to embrace cutting-edge technology, while nurturing a future-ready workforce. With BBR Singapore, we have made great strides in improving the construction industry’s productivity by using the prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction method on various projects. Applying latest advances in digital and virtual technologies to the infrastructure industry is the next innovative venture we are spearheading in the joint research project with I2R.”

Prof Dim-Lee Kwong, Executive Director, I2R said, “Our collaboration with the Tectus Group is a major milestone in the research and development of advanced technologies for the lifecycle management of infrastructure assets. Together, we will work towards the delivery of innovative and cost-effective solutions that will enable businesses like Tectus to elevate their current capabilities within their diverse business portfolios and enable effective knowledge transfer to give companies a competitive edge.”
